What is nervous-system chiropractic?

This kind of care looks at how well your body is communicating, not only where it hurts. A visit usually includes a checkup of how your spine and nerves are working, then a gentle adjustment meant to help that communication. Read the short explanation.

Meet Scott

About Scott

The nervous system runs your baby's development, not the milestone chart. Decoding baby development for new mums thru a movement & nervous system lens. The only Gonstead Diplomate with advanced paediatric training.

Your body (& your baby's) default setting is healthy. My passion is to understand your body, examine how your nervous system is functioning and to locate and correct vertebral subluxations, remove the interference, and let the brain and body communicate the way they're supposed to.

Your First Visit

Your first visit takes about 45 minutes. Here's what to expect: 1. Health History. We sit down and listen to your story, your concerns, and what you've already tried. If it's your baby, we want to know about the pregnancy, birth, and what you're seeing at home. 2. Gonstead Analysis. A thorough spinal assessment using specific Gonstead protocols including palpation, postural analysis, and instrumentation. 3. Discussion. Dr. Scott explains what he found, what it means, and what he recommends. No jargon, no pressure. 4. If appropriate, your first adjustment happens that day. Gonstead adjustments are specific and gentle, especially for babies and children. Visit one: the workup ABOUT 45 MINUTES Your story first, listened to properly. What is going on, how long it has been going on, what makes it better and worse, what you have already tried, what you actually want to get back to doing. Your general health history, medications, previous injuries and any imaging you have had come into it too. Most importantly: how it is impacting you and your life. Then the Gonstead examination: visualisation, instrumentation with the dual-probe instrument, static palpation and motion palpation, with full-spine X-rays taken where clinically indicated. There is typically no adjustment on visit one. That is deliberate, and it is the part people find most unusual. The analysis takes the time it takes, and adjusting before it is done would defeat the point of doing it, by reducing the specificity and accuracy of what needs to be done. Dr Scott does not compromise on delivering the best of Gonstead care to his patients. Visit two: the report & recommendations, then your first adjustment ABOUT 30 MINUTES Dr Scott walks you through exactly what he found, on screen, in plain language. What the examination showed, what the imaging showed if there is any, which segments are involved, and what he thinks is driving the problem. He will also tell you what he does not think it is. You get a specific recommendation: what care would involve, roughly how long, and the point at which you will both stop and check whether it is working. Questions are expected at this visit, not merely tolerated. Bring your partner if it helps. Then, if the findings support it, your first specific Gonstead adjustment. If the findings do not support it, you will be told that instead, along with what you should do and who you should see. Regular visits from there 10 TO 15 MINUTES Short and focused: a re-check through the same five criteria, adjustment where it is indicated, and out the door. The re-check is not a formality. It is what decides whether anything gets adjusted that day, and some days the answer is no. Progress gets reviewed, evaluated and considered at every visit. The music is good and the dad jokes are free.
